Andhra Chemical Factory Blast Leaves 2 Dead, 6 Injured

Amaravati: A reactor blast in a chemical factory left two workers dead and injured six others on Thursday.

The mishap took place at a bulk drug-manufacturing unit of Tyche Industries near Kakinada city in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, PTI reported.

Police said the blast occurred around 3.15 pm during routine operations. It resulted in a fire, which was doused by the Emergency Response and Fire Services Department from Kakinada.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

The injured have been shifted to the Government General Hospital in Kakinada. One of them was stated to be in a critical condition.
