Hyderabad: Police in Telangana capital Hyderabad have registered a case against Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister YS Sharmila.
The charge against Sharmila, who is the chief of YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP), is that she made defamatory remarks against Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party.
Sharmila made the comments recently while speaking about the leaking of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam papers, a news which was shared widely on social media.
BRS activist Narendar Yadav, who filed a complaint at Banjara Hills police station, claimed that Sharmila blamed the chief minister and BRS for the TSPSC exam question paper leaks during a press conference and on social media. The complainant also stated that Sharmila called the BRS ‘Bandicoot Rashtra Samithi’.
An FIR has been registered under Sections 505(2) (statements conducing to public mischief) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of IPC.
