Koraput: For second time in less than a week, health officials from Andhra Pradesh intruded into Odisha’s Koraput district and organised a free camp on Saturday.
According to sources, some health workers from the neighbouring state opened the camp at Patusineri village under Kotia panchayat in the district. They not only conducted health check-up of the villagers but also distributed medicines free of cost.
The Andhra officials set up the health camp under their government’s “Jagan Anna Arogya Surakshya” scheme named after chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. They also brought the villagers from far off villages in own vehicles to the camp for consultation.
Vice-chairman of Salur block in Vizianagarm district of Andhra, administrative officer G Parvathi and some doctors were present for smooth conduct of the camp.
It may be noted that the health officials of Andhra had organised a free health camp at Galigabadar village under Nuagaon panchayat in Pottangi block of the district on October 14. Pottangi block chairperson Kalpana Pangi along with her supporters confronted them and forced them to leave the place.
