Bhubaneswar: In addition to the schools, the Odisha government has announced that all Anganwadi centres in the state will have morning classes due to heatwave condition.
In a notification on Sunday, the Women and Child Development department stated that as per the decision of the government, all Anganwadi centres will operate from 7 am to 1o am from April 17. The decision has been taken considering the prevalent heatwave condition in the state.
The Anganwadi centres have also been directed to make arrangements for adequate supply of drinking water for the children and their staff during the working hours.
However, the district collectors have been told to make changes in the timing of the Anganwadi centres as per the heat condition in their areas. They can also declare closure of the centres, if necessary.
It may be noted that all government and government-aided schools have been directed to hold morning classes from tomorrow for the heatwave in the state.
