Balasore: Medical attendants have locked the OPD of Remuna community health centre (CHC) in protest against the alleged absence of doctors.
The agitation affected medical services with some patients undergoing treatment outside the CHC and some in the vaccination room.
Sources said trouble erupted after an asthma patient was brought to the Remuna CHC on Friday night. But there was no doctor present to treat him. Then, the angry attendants of the patient vandalised the hospital before taking him to Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH).
Some other patients at the CHC also shifted to other hospitals. Later, irate attendants and locals locked the four entry and exit points of the hospital.
Police said they could not take any action because they were yet to receive a written complaint. However, a police team has gone to the spot to negotiate with the agitators.
