‘Animal’ Actress Triptii Dimri Dreams Of Playing These Bollywood Legends On Big Screen

Mumbai: The highly-anticipated biopic on Bollywood’s ‘Tragedy Queen’ Meena Kumari is back in talks and actresses, Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon are being considered for playing the legendary icon on screen.

While Kriti’s name has been doing the rounds since months, recent reports suggest that Kiara has also been approached for the role.

Meanwhile, during a recent media interaction, ‘Animal’ actress Triptii Dimri expressed her wish to play the legendary icon on the silver screen.

While speaking about her inspiration at the recent press conference for ‘Dhadak 2’, Triptii shared, “I would love to do a biopic. I am a huge fan of Meena Kumari ji and Madhubala ji. If someone does a biopic on either of them, I would love to be a part of it. They were legends, icons – and playing them would be an honour.”

Sharing the difficulties of her profession and the emotional intensity demanded out of actors, she said, “Honestly, when you’re acting, there’s so much pressure at the moment. It’s not like someone else’s face comes into your mind – you’re just reacting to your co-actor, your lines, your scene. Still, playing either of them would be such a learning experience.”

The biopic on Meena Kumari, to be produced by filmmaker Sidharth P. Malhotra along with Saregama, will be backed by the family of late director Kamal Amrohi.

Born as Mahjabeen Bano, Meena Kumari has left behind a legacy with her work in Hindi films like ‘Baiju Bawra’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam’, ‘Kaajal’ and ‘Pakeezah’.
