Another Atul Subhash Case Re-Run? Animation Professional Found Dead In Mumbai Hotel

Mumbai: Authorities at the Airport police station in Mumbai have started to investigate the role of a woman and her aunt for the alleged death by suicide of Nishant Tripathi, a 41-year-old animation professional, at a hotel in Vile Parle.

The woman is Tripathi’s wife.

“We have registered a case under Section 108 of the BNS (Abetment to suicide), based on the suicide note left behind by the deceased and a complaint by his mother. We are probing all angles,” a Mumbai Police official said.

Tripathi, originally from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, worked at Virar in Palghar district of Maharashtra. His mother, who lives in Kanpur, claimed before the police that he shifted to the hotel in Mumbai after being tortured by his wife and her aunt.

On February 28, hotel staff and the police broke into his room – that had a ‘Do Not Disturb’ note hanging from the doorknob – to find Tripathi hanging in the bathroom. There was a laptop in the room with access details to his company’s website.

The police logged in and found several suicide notes addressed to his mother, brother, sister and wife. In the suicide note addressed to his mother, Tripathi blamed his wife and her aunt for his decision.

The note left behind for his wife stated: “Hi babe, by the time you read this, I’ll be gone. in my last moments, I could’ve hated you for everything that happened, but I don’t. For this moment, I choose love. I loved you then. I love you now. And as I had promised, it’s not going to fade. *My mother knows that among all the other struggles I faced, you and ********* Mausi are also responsible for my death.* So, I beg you, don’t approach her now. She’s broken enough. Let her grieve in peace.”

This death comes shortly after the suicides by two techies. Both had accused their wives of torture in the suicide notes they left behind.
