Bhawanipatna: The annual Kalahandi Utsav was inaugurated amid festivity at Junagarh in Kalahandi district on Saturday morning.
The festivities began after worshipping Maa Lankeswari followed by firelights at Trinatha Temple. Later, a long procession was taken out that converged at a special platform, Maa Lankeswari Manch, at the local high school playground.
Junagarh MLA Dibyasankar Mishra and district collector, Kalahandi, Susanta Kumar Patel formally inaugurated the festival by taking firelight to the stage and hoisting a flag.
