Bhubaneswar: With the annual Plus II examination scheduled to begin on March 7, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Monday asked the authorities of Plus II junior colleges to complete the installation of CCTV cameras within 24 hours.
These colleges will not be allowed to conduct the examinations at their respective centres if they fail to abide by this order.
Talking to mediapersons here, Controller of Examinations, CHSE, Bijay Kumar Sahu said that the Council will tag the examination centre of the colleges, where CCTV cameras are not installed by February 25, with that of other colleges in the nearby areas.
Giving out the details on the examination, Sahu said that the Council has appointed superintendents for 1142 centres. In the Plus II colleges (Higher Secondary schools), the principals, however, will be appointed as the superintendents. If relatives of the principals are engaged in the examination duty, the latter can then hand over the charge to senior teaching staff. Besides, a deputy superintendent will also be engaged in examination duty, he added.
Sahu further said that the first-phase question papers will soon be despatched to all examination management hubs (EMHs). “The question papers will be kept in the strong room in each EMH with 24-hour security. The strong rooms in these EMHs will remain in operation till the answer sheets are sent to the evaluation centres and the Deputy Controller of Examinations-1,” he pointed out.
The EMH supervisors have been asked to ensure timely despatch of the question papers to the examination centres, he added.
