Another 90-Year-Old Beats COVID At Bhubaneswar’s SUM Hospital

Bhubaneswar: At a time when many are getting scared of the deadly coronavirus amid an alarming second wave of the pandemic in India, here’s a story to warm your hearts and keep faith in our healthcare system.

Ninety-year-old Bauri Sahu fought against COVID-19 for almost a fortnight at SUM Covid Hospital and won the battle, too.

This is the second case in a span of three days – after 98-year-old Annapurna Biswal — of an aged lady conquering the virus and getting discharged from the hospital.

Sahu was admitted on May 3 after testing COVID positive. She responded to the treatment and recovered adequately enough to be allowed to go home on Sunday.

“The doctors, nurses and para-medics did their best to help my mother recover,” her son Bisi Sahu said.

Three days ago, Biswal recovered from the virus despite being admitted with co-morbidities.
