Nuapada: Leopards continued to wreak havoc in parts of Odisha’s Nuapada district. Yet another calf was reportedly killed at Siliribahara under Dharabandh forest area of the district on Monday, a day after a cow fell prey to the big cats in the same village.
In being informed about the fresh incident, forest officials have visited the village and took stock of the situation. An investigation into the killing is underway.
Frequent attacks on domestic animals have left the locals in a tizzy while the forest department was accused of failing to curb the menace.
Sources said, in the last 10 days, the leopards have killed nine domestic animals and a human in different areas of the district.
On Sunday, a cow was killed at Siliribahara while four cattle had been killed earlier in Taria Mahulabhatta.
On March 19, a leopard had killed elderly woman Sanamti barick(65) at Jalamadhei in Sunabeda sanctuary.
