Balasore: Keeping the COVID-19 situation in view, the state government will open another dedicated COVID Hospital in the district.
After reviewing the COVID-19 management here, chief secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy on Friday said the new hospital will have 100 beds with ICU and OT facilities. Besides, 10 more nurses will be immediately deputed to Jyoti Hospital to meet the urgent needs. There is already a 100-bed hospital in Balasore.
Tripathy further said a public awareness campaign on the pandemic will be launched with participation of more than 200 paramedic employees in the district.
The district has reported total 4913 COVID-19 positive cases. While 3763 patients have recovered, 14 patients have succumbed to the disease. There are 1131 positive cases in the district at present.
