Another Girlfriend Of Cuttack Gangster Shakeel Arrested For Extortion

Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police on Friday arrested another girlfriend of the dreaded gangster Mohammad Shakeel for demanding Rs 10 lakh extortion money from a businessman.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Daragha Bazaar Police and the special squad raided an area of the city and arrested the girlfriend. The identity of the arrested was not immediately known. She is reportedly being interrogated at an undisclosed loaction.

On January 1, police had arrested Nasreen Khan, Shakeel’s girlfriend and a law student in a well-known institute, from Choudwar. Her interrogation led to the arrest of the other girlfriend from Cuttack, police sources said.

On December 14, Shakeell had threatened a businessman on WhatsApp video call and demanded Rs 10 lakh while still lodged in Choudwar Circle Jail Acting on the businessman’s complaint, the police had arrested Shakeel’s father and his four associates on December 31.
