Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that another low-pressure area is very likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.
According to the mid-day bulletin, it is likely to concentrate into a depression during the subsequent 24 hours and likely to intensify further thereafter. It is likely to move nearly westwards and reach Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts on December 2.
Meanwhile, cyclone Nivar, which made landfall along Tamil Nadu coast on November 25, has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and the adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.
The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in Interior Odisha, South Coastal Odisha till 8.30 am on Saturday Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha, it added.
The Met office further said that the night temperature is very likely to fall gradually by 3-4 °C at many places during the next 2 to 3 days.
