Bhubaneswar: Work, Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik has tested positive for COVID-19.
Informing about his infection, Mallik in his Twitter handle wrote, “I have tested positive for COVID-19 and my health condition is stable now.” He is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
The minister has also requested the people who have come in contact with him in the last few days to get the COVID-19 test done, if required.
Besides Mallik, Women and Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu, Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and Labour Minister Susanta Singh have been infected by the coronavirus.
More than 50 MLAs of Odisha have tested VOVID-19 positive till date. They include Ananta Narayan Jena (Bhubaneswar-central), Bikram Panda (Berhampur), Soumya Ranjan Patnaik (Khandrapada), Pradeep Maharathy (Pipili), Shankar Oram (Biramitrapur) and Aditya Madhi (Malkangiri).
Besides, MPs Suresh Pujari (Bargarh), Manjulata Mandal (Bhadrak) and Ramesh Majhi (Nabarangpur) are undergoing treatment for the disease.
