Bhubaneswar: After Pari, another minor girl has gone missing from outside her house at Dhundugadia under Banigochha police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district.
According to sources, the incident took place on June 12, following which her parents lodged a missing complaint at the local police station.
Nayagarh SP Siddharth Kataria said two teams have been formed to trace the six-year-old. “Since the village is situated in the interior forest pocket, searches are being conducted only during the day,” he added.
Kataria said the teams are being led by an officer who had worked with the Special Operation Group(SOG) and a sub-inspector who is well versed with the geographical region.
Banigochha police, meanwhile, have registered a case under section 363 of IPC (kidnapping).
Police sources said all the possible angles are being investigated and added that nearby water bodies are also being searched. The probability of the girl being attacked by wild animals is also being probed.
Notably, Nayagarh district had hogged the headlines last year after a five-year-old girl disappeared while playing outside the house on July 14 last year and her skeletal remains were recovered from Jadupur village after seven days.
