Another Modification Petition On Rath Yatra Stay Order Filed

Bhubaneswar: Another modification petition on Rath Yatra stay order has been filed in the Supreme Court.a

Jgannath Sanskruti Jana Jagaran Manch, which was an intervenor in the Rath Yatra case in the SC, filed the petition before the apex court on Friday, sources said. The organization’s secretary Saroj Sahoo has signed the petition on its behalf. Hitendra Nath Rath is representing the organisation as its lawyer.

Earlier, Aftab Hossein had also filed a petition in the SC seeking a partial modification in the previous order by allowing the annual sojourn of the Lords in Puri alone by enforcing complete shutdown in the Pilgrim Town.

On Thursday, the apex court stayed Rath Yatra across Odisha amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Odisha cabinet in an emergency meeting later in the evening decided to abide by it.
