Angul: In another case of elephant attack in Odisha’s Angul district, a man coming home on his bike was trampled to death on Sunday night.
According to sources, Hadibandhu Bhoi of Sanhinsh village under Bantala police station in the district had gone out of the village on some work on the day. While he was returning home at around 8 pm, an elephant attacked him near his village.
Some locals found Hadibandhu lying dead on the road and informed his family. A police team also went to the spot and started investigation.
It may be noted that two women were killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at Badakantakula village under Bantala police limits on April 24.
In a similar incident on January 7, four persons were killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at different places in the district. The same elephant went on a rampage and killed the four people at Cheliapada, Barasingha, Angarbandh and Santri villages.
At least 10 people have lost their lives in elephant attacks in Bantala area in the last four months, the sources said.
