Puri: A selfie taken inside Anand Bazaar has gone viral on social media, exposing the poor frisking at Jagnnatha Temple here.
This despite the fact that Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has banned the use of mobile phones, cameras and other electronic gadgets on the 12th century temple premises on security grounds. Some signage have also been put up at the Lions’ Gate to make devotees aware of the ban.
According to sources, a youth identified as Pintu Mohapatra had uploaded a photograph of his at Ananda Bazaar while selling Mahaprasad on his Facebook account. He had posted it on August 19.
Some reports identified the youth as a temple servitor or Suara Sevayat.
There have been several such instances of violation of the ban order. Recently a video taken on the sly inside Jagannath Temple had gone viral. In October too, selfies clicked by some devotees inside the shrine did the rounds on social media.
