Rajouri: Less than 24 hours after militants shot dead four civilians, another suspected terror attack rocked Rajouri on Monday.
A child died after a blast was reported from Dangri village, very close to the house of one of the civilians killed last evening.
Seven others were injured in the explosion, including another child who is in a critical condition.
“Today an explosion took place in which a child was killed & 7 people got injured. It seems that the IED was kept under a gunny bag. Info about presence of 2 terrorists has been received. Area has been cordoned off & search Op underway,” said Mukesh Singh, ADGP, Jammu Zone.
Today’s blast comes at a time when security forces have launched a massive hunt for two terrorists believed to have barged into three houses and shot dead four Hindu civilans.
Army, police, CRPF personnel and a special operation group are involved in the cordon-and-search operation. Drones and sniffer dogs have also been deployed.
Even as local people protested against back-to-back militant incidents, security has been beefed up in Rajouri to ensure that terrorists don’t get the chance to escape.
