Bhubaneswar: Amid rising incidents of crime in Odisha capital, Badagada area saw three miscreants allegedly chasing and attacking a youth with knife and surgical blades late on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Dipak Pradhan.
According to sources, the incident took place around 10 pm when Dipak was returning home. The miscreants wearing helmets came a motorcycle and kicked him while he was feeding a dog on the street by parking his two-wheeler. As he lost his balance and fell down, they attacked him with a knife and surgical blades, inflicting serious injuries on the hand and back.

Dipak was rescued and immediately admitted to Capital Hospital here.
Meanwhile, police have begun an investigation and scanning nearby CCTV cameras to identify the culprits. Though the exact cause behind the brutal attack is not yet known, it is suspected to be the fallout of past enmity.
This comes a week after three motorcycle-borne miscreants attacked a social worker, who was on a two-wheeler, with sharp weapons. Police later arrested four persons in connection with the incident and termed it as an act of revenge.
