Cuttack: Anshupa Park, a major tourist destination in Banki block of the district, has been completely submerged under the floodwater from river Mahanadi.
According to sources, around 10 feet of floodwater has submerged the natural park and the two-storey guest house on its premises. The park close to Anshupa lake is famous as a tourist spot having boating facility.
Several villages in Athagarh and Banki blocks of the district were inundated after floodwater of Mahanadi gushed into the low-lying areas. Six panchayats of Banki and Koilikanya and Raghurampur villages under Tigiria block have been flooded.
While hundreds of acres of agriculture field have been inundated, there were reports of many thatched houses getting damaged.
