Anti-Cyclonic Circulation Over Bay Brings Rain To South Coastal Odisha, Bhubaneswar & Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar slumbered down to the pitter-patter sound of raindrops on Sunday night.

The cities continued to witness chilly weather amid fog and slight drizzle this morning.

South Coastal Odisha, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and some interior districts have also been receiving rain under the influence of easterlies from South Interior Karnataka to east Vidarbha and anti-cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal in the lower levels. The system is likely to remain active till January 25, bringing rain to some districts of the state during next 3-4 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.

A change in weather conditions is likely from January 26.

The MeT office had earlier forecast light to moderate rain at some places in the state till January 25.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog may occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Balangir.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at a few places in North Odisha and at one or two places in the districts of South Odisha.

Light rain is also expected at one or two places in North Odisha, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, and Nayagarh.

From 8.30 AM on Jan 22 to 8.30 AM on Jan 23

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is likely at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.

Shallow to moderate fog may occur at a few places in South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places in remaining districts of the state.

Light rain and thundershowers is also likely at one or two places in districts of Coastal Odisha.

From 8.30 AM on Jan 23 to 8.30 AM on Jan 24

Yellow Warning: Dense fog may occur at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, and Balangir.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at one or two places across the state.

Light to Moderate rain\thundershower may occur at one or two places in North Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, and Dhenkanal.

Light to Moderate rain\thundershower may occur at one or two places in Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Kandhamal.

From 8.30 AM on Jan 25 to 8.30 AM on Jan 26

Light to Moderate rain\thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places in South Coastal Odisha.

Dry weather will prevail across the state thereafter.
