Rayagada: Posters, condemning Maoist violence, surfaced in different parts of Bissamcuttack area in Rayagada district on Wednesday.
Signed by Sampurna Hinsamukta Odisha Abhiyan, the posters were found at Medical Bazaar, tehsil office and other places.
“The Maoists have been acting as agents of anti-development in the locality. The people are fed up with the violent activities of the rebels like killing of innocent people by falsely accusing them of being police informers and torching vehicles used for road construction works,” the poster read.
Stating that Maoist menace will no more be tolerated, the organisation, through posters, asked the ultras to either shun violence or leave the district immediately.
On being informed by locals, police seized the posters and intensified security in the area.
