Bhubaneswar: Bhadrak SP, Anup Kumar Sahu took charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Sahu replaced Satyabrata Bhoi.
Talking to media persons soon after taking charge of his new assignment, Sahu said crime control, traffic management and VVIP security would be a challenging task for him.
“My priority would be to effectively deal with the cyber crime and ensure adequate safety and security for women,” he added.
It may be mentioned that the state government in a notification on March 8 had effected a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre.
In the notification issued by the Home department, it had transferred the 2006-batch IPS officer and Bhadrak SP Anup Kumar Sahu as the Bhubaneswar DCP in place of Satyabrata Bhoi who was promoted and transferred as the DIG, Northern Range.
