Mumbai: Anupam Kher made his Bollywood debut at the age of 29, with an award-winning performance in ‘Saaransh’ as a 65-year-old retired teacher who loses his son.
Thirty-eight years down the line in what has been an illustrious career, Kher is in no mood to call it quits. Even as he basks in the success of ‘The Kashmir Files’, Kher, now 67, has started shooting for his 523rd film – titled ‘IB71’.
“And I start my 523rd film #IB71 with the highly talented and heartwarmingly humble @mevidyutjammwal! His company @actionherofilms produces it. #SankalpReddy of #TheGhaziAttack fame directs this fantastic thriller! Jai Ho and Jai Hind! #LifeOfAnActor #Movies #JoyOfCinema,” Kher wrote on Instagram alongside a picture from the sets.
The espionage thriller is directed by Sankalp Reddy and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Vidyut Jammwal’s Action Hero Films and Reliance Entertainment.
“I welcome Kher saab to the IB 71 squad. It is a pleasure to have the legendary actor join the star cast of this special film. His thoughts and excitement for the film are truly inspiring. Collaborating with him for my first production is something I will cherish for the rest of my life and I am really looking forward to spending time with him,” said Vidyut.
“I’m happy to have one of the finest actors (Kher) in the Indian cinema join us. He is every director’s dream come true and I’m sure he will share his brilliance with us. As an actor, he has made India proud and I’m assured that just like in all his films, he will emerge as irreplaceable in ours too.” Sankalp said.
