Mumbai: Like Amitabh Bachchan, Anushka Sharma too rode on a bike with wearing helmet earlier this week.
As the pictures went viral, Mumbai Police took note of the ‘unlawful’ acts. And it’s the driver of the bike Anushka was riding pillion on who has been pulled up.
Anushka reportedly avoided travelling in her car and hopped on to the two-wheeler of her bodyguard instead, since there was a roadblock on the streets of Mumbai.
Netizens pointed out that neither Anushka nor her bodyguard Sonu Shaikh was wearing the helmet.
Mumbai Traffic Police imposed a fine of Rs 10,500 on Sonu, according to a Times Now report. A challan was also issued against him under Sec 129/194, Sec 5/180 & Sec 3(1)18.
Bachchan explained in a blog that he had not violated traffic rules.
Anushka is set to make her acting comeback with ‘Chakda Xpress’, a biopic on Indian women’s cricket team fast bowler Jhulan Goswami. The Prosit Roy directorial is scheduled to release on OTT platform in December.
