Srinagar: Having succeeded in nutralising the top Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists involved in the Pulwama terror attack that claimed the lives of 42 jawans, including two from Odisha, the Army on Tuesday said any one picking up the gun will be “eliminated unless they surrender”.
The stern message came after the Army attained a major victory in eliminating three Jaish terrorists during a day long operation on Monday. They included Abdul Rasheed Ghazi alies Kamran, the main conspirator behind the terror attack.
“Anyone who has picked up the gun in Kashmir will be eliminated, unless they surrender,” Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, Corps Commander of Chinar Corps said during a joint briefing between Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
He said the three terrorists were killed in less than 100 hours of the Pulwama attack on February 14.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Monday said that the time for talks on tackling terror is over that the time has come for action to end terror in the the Kashmir valley.
“I request all the mothers of Kashmir to please request their sons who have joined terrorism to surrender and get back to the mainstream,” he said.
Adil Ahmad Dar, a 20-year-old local from Pulwama, has executed the attack when he rammed his vehicle laden with 100 kgs of explosive into the CRPF convoy.
Asked about the involvement of Pakistan in the attack, Lt Dhillion said the JeM was a ‘child’ of the Pakistani Army and they, as well as the ISI, had a role to play in the February 14 attacks.
“There is no doubt that Pakistan Army and the ISI is involved. JeM is a child of the Pakistan Army,” he said.
On the type of explosive used in the February 14 attack, Lt Dhillion said it was a matter of investigation and details would not be made public as yet. “The type of car bomb attack that took place in Pulwama on February 14 happened after a long time in Kashmir. We will keep all options open to deal with these kinds of attacks. We have leads on the type of explosives used but I can’t share the details as an investigation is underway.”
