Rayagada: A businessman was robbed of gold ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh and Rs 9 lakh cash at gunpoint near Jamadeipentha in Odisha’s Rayagada district on Sunday night.
The businessman, who hails from Parvathipuram in Andhra Pradesh, sells gold ornaments to jewellers in Rayagada district. He was returning to Parvathipuram on a scooter when the incident took place.
Two men on a motorcycle, whose faces were covered, stopped him and took away the gold ornaments and cash he was carrying at gun-point.
