Bhubaneswar: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given a challenge to Odisha and its neighbours to make the Polavaram project functional by May, 2019 amid all controversies, at a meeting held at West Godavari district on Tuesday.
He said, “Polavaram project is the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh. The state government is determined and committed to complete the construction work by May, though the opposition gheraoed the state government regarding the project.”
The Chief Minister further claimed that the opposition is trying to criticise his government’s efforts in building the project.
Odisha Government has been demanding to increase the water capacity to 50 lakh cusecs from 35 lakh cusecs in the Polavaram project. The National Green Tribunal is hearing the case.
