Bhubaneswar: Parliamentarian Aparajita Sarangi has released a comprehensive report card detailing her developmental activities over the past seven years, outlining key infrastructure achievements and major civic initiatives undertaken across her Bhubaneswar constituency.
Presenting a detailed 60-page document highlighting 55 different types of development works, the Parliamentarian expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi for their continuous support and assistance.
Reflecting on her tenure, Aparajita noted that she has sincerely attempted to fulfil her responsibilities toward the constituency. She detailed that significant investments have been directed toward improving road connectivity along the two National Highway stretches in her parliamentary segment, encompassing projects worth a total of ₹446 crore that include 10 foot overbridges (₹10 crore), seven flyovers (₹240 crore), and 16 vehicle underpasses to streamline transit. She also highlighted key civic progress including the establishment of 756 streetlight installations, the operation of 115 Jan Aushadhi Kendras to provide affordable healthcare supplies, and upcoming initiatives like the setting up of a branch of National Gallery of Modern Art at a cost of ₹30 crore.
Addressing traffic congestion challenges, the Bhubaneswar MP stated that a proposal for a connecting road near Baramunda is being pursued and that she has also drawn the Chief Minister’s attention to the Bhubaneswar Metro project, noting a positive response from the state government. “Development work, public service, and the hearing and resolution of public grievances, these three expressions define the true essence of politics,” she said, while presenting her progress report.

>> ₹8,307 Crore Capital Region Ring Road: Sanctioned 111-km 6-lane access-controlled highway connecting Rameswar (Khordha) to Tangi (Cuttack).
>> 88% Grievance Redressal Rate: Over 20,661 grievances resolved out of 23,478 received at her office.
>> ₹418 Crore World-Class Railway Hub: Modernization of Bhubaneswar Railway Station with a 108m air concourse and 34 lifts.
>> 373 Lok Sabha Questions Raised: Active participation across 17th and 18th Lok Sabha sessions.
>> Capital Region Ring Road: 111-km six-lane highway covering Khordha, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal districts (₹8,307 Cr).
>> Elevated Corridors & Skywalks: Commenced the ₹949.35 Cr Jaydev Vihar to Nandankanan elevated corridor, as well as the ₹18.42 Cr 450-meter Skywalk with 4 Foot Over Bridges between Palasuni and Rasulgarh.
>> Highway Bypasses: Secured critical bypasses including Khordha Town Bypass (₹158 Cr), Baghamari Bypass (₹53.25 Cr), Rajsunakhela Bypass (₹156 Cr), Begunia Bypass (₹118 Cr), and Pubusahi Bypass (₹270 Cr).
>> Flyovers & VUPs: Constructing major flyovers at Khandagiri (₹115.63 Cr) and Hanspal (₹23.46 Cr), along with 16 Vehicle Underpasses (VUPs) across NH-16 and NH-56.
>> Heritage & Culture: Included Kapileswar Mahadev Temple under ASI protection, facilitated the Ekamra Heritage Project (₹180 Cr) around Lingaraj Temple, and obtained approval for India’s 4th National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) branch in Bhubaneswar (₹630 Cr).
>> Grid Sub-Stations: Inaugurated the ₹616 Crore 220/132/33 KV High Voltage Grid Sub-Station at Balianta and Satyanagar GIS Grid to solve low-voltage issues in Bhubaneswar and Balianta.
>> Water & Sanitation: Commenced the 130 MLD Water Treatment Plant (₹370 Cr) by WATCO, the 33-km Gangua Nallah Eco-Rejuvenation Project (₹8,736 Cr), and Daya West Canal Upgrade (₹448.15 Cr).
>> Sansad Chikitsa Sibira (SCS): Mission-mode monthly health camps across all blocks, serving ~500 patients per camp with free specialist consultations, tests, and medicines.
>> Medical Assistance: Facilitated ₹4.08 Crore from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for 162 critical patients, alongside ₹34.60 Lakh via Lok Kalyan Panthi (Bharasha) for 972 individuals.
>> Janaushadhi Expansion: Expanded Jan Aushadhi outlets in Khordha district from 12 in 2019 to 115 in 2026.
>> ESI Super-Speciality Expansion: Signed MoU for new ESI Medical College & Hospital at Andharua and upgraded Chandrasekharpur ESI hospital from 100 to 220 beds.
>> Ayush & Naturopathy: PM Modi launched the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) at Binjhagiri (₹94.76 Cr).
