Bhubaneswar: Eligible women beneficiaries, who apply by March 31, will receive three instalments, amounting to Rs 15,000, under Subhadra Yojana at one time on the auspicious occasion of Rakhi Purnima this year, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said on Sunday.
The deadline for registration under the scheme for 2024-25 was approved by the state cabinet in January.
This came a day after the CMO informed that more than 1.7 lakh women beneficiaries, who were left out of Subhadra Yojana, will receive their first instalment of Rs 5,000 in the fifth phase on March 6.
Parida further stated that the government has been able to achieve the magic number of more than 1 crore beneficiaries in just eight months. “The entire credit goes to those working at the grassroots, the Anganwadi workers and Bank Mitra personnel. The second instalment of Rs 5,000 will be credited to the bank accounts of about 1 crore women beneficiaries on International Women’s Day on March 8,” she added.
So far, 98 lakh women have received the first instalment amount under the fund transfer scheme.
Launched in August 2024, Subhadra scheme aims to financially empower women and provide safety nets for their families. The government has allocated Rs 55,825 crore for five years for this flagship initiative for women in the age group of 18 to 60.
