Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has granted the mining lease of Ghoraburhani-Sagasahi iron ore block in Sundargarh district to ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India Ltd.
The iron ore block was originally bagged by Essar Steel (acquired by AMNS India) through an auction process in 2016. The lease deed was signed on Friday.
The iron ore block is spread over an area of 139.165 hectares (90.629 hectares of mineralised area and 48.536 hectares of non-mineralised area) in Ghoraburhani, Sagasahi and Kalamang Village under Koira tehsil. The lease is for a period of 50 years, official sources said.
