Are Three Tigers Roaming Near Villages In Odisha’s Nayagarh?

Daspalla: Villagers in Sakeshi under Daspalla forest range in Odisha’s Nayagarh district are living in constant fear for the last few days, claiming that three tigers are roaming in the area.

Villagers of Puruna Poibadi area under Tendabadi panchayat claimed pugmarks of the big cats have been sighted in several places and they even hear their growls at night, according to reports.

“We are hearing their growls at night. Villagers have also seen their pugmarks,” a villager was quoted as saying in a news report.

Scared, villagers of Kusumgadia, Barasahi, Khalisahi and Kusumkana are now afraid to step out of their houses at night and take their cattle and livestock for grazing during daytime.

Not just tigers, a herd of elephants has also spread fear in the area. A herd of at least 14 elephants is moving in the area, damaging crops and other properties.
