Rourkela: A group of unidentified miscreants looted Rs 5 lakh from a businessman’s house at Jalada here on Wednesday.
According to available information, the family members, who tried to resist the loot, were brutally thrashed by the miscreants who later locked them up in a room.
They then decamped with the cash present in the house.
Noticing suspicious activities inside the house, neighbours reached the place and rescued the family members from the locked room.
Following a complaint lodged by the businessman, police along with a team of scientific experts rushed to the spot and started inquiry.
