Kendrapada: Armed robbers stormed a house at a village in Aul area of Odisha’s Kendrapada district and decamped with gold ornaments and cash worth more than Rs 12 lakh.
According to sources, the robbery took place at Balisahi village of Bhuinpur panchayat under the jurisdiction of Aul police station on Friday night.
Police said a group of around five armed dacoits barged into the house of Narayan Sahoo after breaking open the main entrance gate and looted gold jewellery valued at around Rs 10 lakh and cash to the tune of Rs 2 lakh.
The dacoits reportedly confined the family members by locking doors of their rooms from outside. It was claimed that they broke a locker in a room and looted the valuables.
On being informed by house owner, a team from Aul Police station visited the site and launched an investigation probe into the dacoity.
