Arms, Explosives Seized From UTP’s House In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Police on Friday seized a huge cache of arms and explosives from the house of an undertrial prisoner (UTP) near Ainthapalli area in Sambalpur district.

The accused, identified as Ranjan Moharana, is behind the bars since his arrest on July 10 in connection with illegal sale of Corex cough syrup.
A police team led by Sambalpur Sadar SDPO Mihir Panda raided the house and seized a revolver, three live bullets, two swords, one air rifle, one knife and some detonators.
“The raid was conducted after getting information about Moharana’s illegal cough syrup business.The accused is involved in a number of criminal cases, including ganja smuggling,” the SDPO informed.
The criminal will be questioned in connection with the seizure. Action will initiated against him accordingly, Panda added.
