Mumbai: Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami walked out of Taloja Jail on Wednesday after being granted bail in 2018 abetment to suicide case.
To avoid further arrests, the journalist and wife have moved Mumbai sessions court, seeking pre-arrest bail in connection with a case registered against them for allegedly resisting arrest and obstruction of public servants from doing their official duty on November 4, the Times of India reported.
The N M Joshi Marg in Mumbai had registered an FIR against the couple, their son and two others under Sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging duty), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and under the Damage to Public Property Act.
Section 353 is non-bailable with a maximum of two years’ imprisonment, the report added.
