Arrest Warrant Against Dancer Sapna Chaudhary; Know Why

Lucknow: A court here has issued an arrest warrant against dancer Sapna Chaudhary.

The arrest warrant was issued after she allegedly cancelled a dance programme and did not return the money to ticket-buyers.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shantanu Tyagi issued the warrant against Chaudhary, asking the police to execute it by November 22, the next date of hearing. Chaudhary had earlier moved court to quash the FIR.

The FIR was registered on October 14, 2018, after she failed to turn up for a dance show at Smriti Upwan here a day before. Tickets, each priced at Rs 300, were sold both online and offline. After she did not turn up till 10 pm, the crowd created a ruckus.
