Arrested IFS Officer Abhay Pathak Moves Orissa High Court For Bail

Cuttack: Suspended Odisha cadre IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak on Friday moved the Orissa High Court seeking bail.

Pathak was arrested by the Vigilance on November 27 for allegedly having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. He was found in possession of properties worth more than Rs 9.35 crore which he could not account for satisfactorily.

After his arrest, Pathak was produced before the Special Vigilance Court which rejected his bail plea and remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.

Later, Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Odisha Vigilance took him on a three-day remand for questioning. He is now housed in Jharpada Special Jail here.
