Puri: On the occasion of the Odia New Year and Hanuman Jayanti, artist Manas Kumar Sahoo created a sand art near the Light House on the beach here.
The great Equinox Pana Sankranti is known as the New Year of the Odias. This day is also celebrated as “Hanuman Jayanti”.
Sahoo has sculpted Hanuman with a prayer to help the world get rid of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also conveyed his ‘New Year’ greetings to all Odia brothers and sisters.
The sand art is 15 ft wide and about 15 tonnes of sand was used to create it.
