Puri: Sand artists Sudarshan Patnaik and Manas Kumar Sahu have created two massive sculptures of Lord Jagannath on Puri sea beach to welcome 2024.
Pattnaik and his students have created the sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath depicting his ‘Bada Singhara Besha’. They have used different types of flowers including marigold, rose and chrysthemum to prepare the 25 ft high sculpture.
The flowers have been used to create different features of the Lord’s Singhara Besha including ‘Nakachana’, ‘Hridaya Padak’, ‘Kara Pallab’ and others.
They have written ‘Jai Jagannath’ as a wish of New Year on the sculpture which was visited by a good number of tourists on the day.
Similarly, artist Manas Sahu has created a 20 ft high sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath on the beach. He has used 15 ton of sand to make the sculpture. It took him 7 hours to complete his creation.
Sahu has written Happy New Year 2024 on the sculpture to express his wish to the people. He said he wanted to wish a happy, prosperous and peaceful year ahead for the world through his sculpture.
