Bhubaneswar: Arun Kumar Sarangi, who assumed additional charge of Director General of Police (DGP) in Odisha on Sunday, said all branches of police works will be on his focus.

He took charge from outgoing DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal, who retired from the government service on Sunday. Sarangi will hold the additional charge till a regular DGP is appointed.
Speaking to media after assuming the office, Saragi said all aspects of policing including crime detection, investigation and law and order will get equal attention and thrust from him.
“Instilling the confidence of the people in police will be broad parameter. For this, all aspects need to get equal attention. Besides, all police personnel will ensure quality policing,” he said.
Stating that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been very supportive for strengthening the police force, Sarangi said over 5,000 new personnel have been appointed during the term of Bansal. “With the strength of police increasing, the quality of police work is expected to improve,” he added.
