New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal surrendered at the Tihar Jail after on Sunday after the interim bail granted to him by Supreme Court in the liquor policy case ended.
He visited Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Rajghat and Prachin Hanuman temple at Connaught Place around 3 pm. He addressed party workers before heading to Tihar Jail, urging them to be alert during counting of votes on June 4.
“I believe Modi government will fall on June 4… they are playing mind games through these exit polls, don’t fall for these and be confident,” Kejriwal said.

“First I will go to Rajghat and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. From there I will go to Hanuman temple in Connaught Place to seek the blessings of Hanuman ji. And from there I will go to the party office and meet all the workers and party leaders. From there I will leave again for Tihar,” he tweeted earlier on Sunday.
“All of you take care of yourselves. I will take care of you all in jail. If you are happy then your Kejriwal will also be happy in jail,” he added.
Kejriwal further stated that he was grateful to the Supreme Court for granting him a 21-day interim bail for campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections.
On June 1, the Delhi CM held a meeting of the AAP’s political affairs committee at his residence and stressed the need to remain united in his absence. He later attended a meeting of the INDIA bloc to discuss performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Last week, the AAP chief approached the Supreme Court seeking a seven-day extension of the interim bail, pleading that he needed time to undergo medical tests as he was losing weight and was having high ketone levels. As the Supreme Court registry refused an urgent listing of his plea, he then moved the special CBI-ED court seeking interim bail. The court has reserved its order for June 5.
Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21 after the agency established a link between a lobby of liquor traders, named ‘South Group’, and AAP while investigating the Delhi excise policy case. A Rs 100-crore bribe was allegedly paid to the AAP by the South Group.
