Bhubaneswar: A group of representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is all set to embark upon a three-day visit to Odisha to explore business opportunities in the state.
Apart from meeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the team will hold discussions with senior state government officials and visit different tourist destinations and industrial hubs. The delegation will comprise diplomats, trade commissioners and representatives of business houses.
The team members will visit various food processing units including the sea food processing plant located at Deras near Bhubaneswar. They will also visit places including Puri and Konark besides Rajarani temple in the state capital.
During Odisha Investors’ Meet held in New Delhi, the Chief Minister had held discussions with envoys of different countries and invited them to visit the state. Responding to his invitation, the ASEAN representatives are reaching Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, according to Industries Minister P K Deb.
Ambassadors of several countries including Myanmar, Philippines, Vietnam. Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore will be a part of the team. Various programmes have been organised for the representatives of ASEAN
It may be noted here that Naveen, with his vision to make Odisha as an industrial hub, organised Investors’ Meets in cities of India and abroad. Top industy captains have evinced keen interest to make investment in the state.
