Bhubaneswar: Legendary singer Asha Bhosle took to twitter on Thursday to announce about her latest Odia song. She recorded the song with granddaughter Zanai for music director-singer Shankar Mahadevan at a studio in Mumbai.
In 2016, Bhosle had rendered a Sambalpuri song ‘Uansa andhare nai desi sina’ for the film Chinni. However, it was in 1975 that the iconic singer recorded her first Odia song ‘jhimi jhimi jhimika majaa’ for the film Samaya. She lent voice for ‘Jahna Go Tume Jhurana’ from Arati in 1981 and for the movie Maa in 1992 with husband and legend RD Burman as the music composer.
Bhosle is a recipient of Akshaya Mohanty Samman for 2011, while Mahadevan had performed ‘Rangabati’ during the inaugural function of Asian Athletics Championships in the state capital last month.
