Ashish Gadanayak, Swagatika Swain To Receive Timepass Booker Award

Bhubaneswar: Two young Odia writers Ashish Gadanayak and Swagatika Swain will receive the prestigious Timepass Booker Award for 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Ashish will receive the award for his novel ‘Krusha’ and Swagatika for her novel ‘Swapnara Shahe Barsha’.

The two writers will receive a citation and a memento by the publication house Timepass, founded by the writer and publisher Saroj Bal, during a literary function in Bhubaneswar on October 20.

Besides, the publishing house will also felicitate six Odia writers with the Timepass Bestseller Award for the year 2019. They are Amiya Bej (for his storybook ‘Katha’), Bichitra Biswal (for his storybook ‘Muthae Angara’), Sharmistha Sahu (for her anthology of poems ‘Jhadapakhira Gita’), Suryasnata Tripathy (for the anthology of poems ‘E Samparka Emiti’) Pragyanaprabartika Das (for her novel ‘Aparajita’) and Kishore Panigrahi (for his translation ‘Semananka Shrestha Galpa’).

Besides, Tapas Sahu will receive the Timepass Bahibandh Award.

The annual literary awards are conferred on Odia writers below the age of 45.
