Cuttack: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Tuesday informed the Orissa High Court that it will take up the repair work of the Jaya Vijaya Dwar of the Jagannath temple from May 1.
The ASI, in an affidavit, apprised the court of that it will take at least a month complete the repair work of the temple to which the court directed to complete its work by May 31.
Besides, the court also directed the ASI to take up the repair work with hanging plates to ensure smooth darshan of the Lords by the devotees.
Following the directive of the court, the core committee of the ASI will have a meeting in this connection on April 26.
The court also asked the ASI to submit a detailed report on the condition of the Mukti Mandap and other temples around the main temple.
If necessary, the repair work of the Mukti Mandap and other temples would be taken up after receiving the report from the ASI, Shri Jagannath Temple Administration and the state government, the court observed.
The court also expressed satisfaction over the smooth and timely conduct of the rituals by the servitors of the Jagannath temple.
