Bhubaneswar: All eyes are on the weather gods as India take on Pakistan at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for their Super 4 clash in the Asia Cup, starting at 3 pm on Sunday.
The previous encounter between the two teams ended in a no result as the match during the 2023 Asia Cup group stages on September 2 was washed out after the Men in Blue put up 266 runs in the first innings and the other against Nepal was also a rain-curtailed fixture.
Amid thunderstorms and rain forecast till Monday, the weather in Colombo this morning seemed promising. However, the percentage of precipitation is likely to shoot up to 85-90 per cent between 4-7 pm.
According to AccuWeather, it will be cloudy in Colombo in the day with a couple of thunderstorms. The probability of precipitation is set to be at 90 per cent throughout the afternoon. More showers and thunderstorms are predicted in the evening.
Quoting local channels, the India Express reported that Colombo will remain cloudy and chances of rain before 7 pm are very less. However, post 7 pm there could be mild showers, but they expect the intensity to be very less.
In case, the India vs Pakistan Super 4 match cannot produce a result on Sunday, the Reserve Day on September 11 will come into play. The India and Pakistan cricket fans outside the stadium told ANI that they was the match to get completed and cricket to win.
