Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Swetasini Sabar will represent India in the women’s softball competition at the upcoming Asian Games.
The Softball Association of India (SBAI) on Monday named a 16-member squad for the Games to be held in Chinese city of Hangzhou, from September 23 to October 8.
The maximum number of players are from national champions Maharashtra. Kerala and Punjab contributed 3 and 2 girls, respectively, while there is one player each from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.
Softball debuted as a medal sport at the Tokyo Olympics and will also feature at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
